The students had a good week.
In Math we have been working on two-digit subtraction. We have gone through our centres and worked on reviewing place value as well. The students had their regular Fast as a Flash practice which is focussing on both subtraction and addition of facts so as to improve fluency/speed when calculating in Math.
In Science, we finished up our unit on Buoyancy with a review of our notes and experiments. We finished up with some sailboat art today.
In Spanish, we have continued working on food. Students have started to build up their vocabulary as well as starting to create sentences and basic questions and answers around food.
In English, the students did some nice poetry based around our r-controlled vowels vocabulary. We read pieces of The Wild Robot and had our centres as well. We have started reading and examining Stuck Stories, which will then lead up to the students having created their own stuck story.
Today the students/school had a Tangram/Pattern Blocks Challenge and a lot of creative pieces were made.
Most students have been doing a good job with Home Reading and Agenda. Keep it up.
