MATEMATICAS
We introduced 3D shapes and continued to work on subtraction. We used plasticine, drawing and physical shapes to understand the number of vertices and faces of various 3D shapes. The students also continued with their math fact fluency work.
ESPANOL
In Spanish, the students continued to work on the unit Comida. Students created plates of what the would eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (desayuno, almuerzo, cena) We had our centres and students did both independent and choral reading.
ENGLISH
The students added some details to a stuck story. We continued with our Wild Robot story. We also looked at parts of speech.(nouns, verbs, adjectives) having the students recognize various parts of a sentence. Our Grade 5 buddies visited as well.
SCIENCE
In Science, we started the unit, Small Crawling and Flying Animals. (Insects/Arachnids/Worms---BUGS)
We have some new pets in our class to observe and hopefully watch go through metamorphosis. (Silkworms, Hornworms, Mealworms and some Crickets)
Today we celebrated Earth day with a craft and a video on a recycling plant.
