Friday Post

We did an interdisciplinary activity for social studies and science where we created a treasure map! A magnet and paperclip were used to find the treasure - ask us how we did this! A compass was included to help our fellow pirates find the treasure (Never Eat Soggy Waffles).

This week in gym we continued to play basketball! We practiced drills on passing, throwing, and dribbling the basketballs.

In English, we started Daily 5. We are excited to work in the different centers to practice reading and writing.

In Math, we continued to work on growing patterns, mayor que/menor que (bigger than/smaller than), and lados/vertices (sides/vertex) and the names of 2D shapes.

In Art, we collected leaves and then used wax crayons to create a beautiful autumn artwork. We also learnt that the 'veins' in the leaves are were water travels. We thought that the leaf designs were unique, just like the fingerprints on our hands.

Agenda Items:

Accessories such as swords, guns, knives, weapons etc. should not be brought to school.  As costumes should not impede learning, we ask that no mask even if it’s a half face mask be worn to school.  Those wanting to wear COVID masks are welcome to. Due to dietary restrictions and preferences, no food should be brought to school for sharing purposes.  While well intended, other non-food treats should also be not brought to school (goodie/loot bags).
