This week in Math we explored math facts up to 20 and "flip flop" equations. We reviewed addition strategies such as +0, +1, and +3 to add up to 20.
We experimented with creating self-portraits in the art form called "Cubism" for an interdisciplinary project of Art and Math (shapes and angles). iPads were used to take pictures so we could see side and front views of our faces as cubism involves different perspectives and angles. We displayed our artwork in our classroom! Can you see the front and side views in our self portraits?
In Spanish, we continued work with sÃlabas and read-aloud a book about Tortillas! Ask us what other words start with the letter T.

- RazKids - RazKids login cards were sent home on Thursday. The grade 2’s will be using RazKids as a reading tool to support reading and fluency practice at home in both English and Spanish. Students have access to both English and Spanish books on RazKids and can read, listen to reading and even record themselves reading at home on RazKids
- During the pandemic, many pieces shifted online, including Parent Teacher Conferences. Some families indicated that they preferred them online as it allowed flexibility in timing and attendance. We have formal opportunities for connections with families throughout the year. Thank you for providing feedback for the format and method delivery of our conferences. Please note that due to logistical parameters that are not in our control, we may not be able to implement all feedback. Thank you for providing your input. The survey will close October 28, 2022 at 4pm.
