Reminder that Thursday is library day! Please bring any books back to school to return/renew.
This week we introduced 'Math Binders' that have math activities and games to complete. We had fun exploring and reviewing concepts in the math binders. As a group, we represent the number of the day in a variety of ways (dice [dados], línea de números [number line], decenas y unidades [base ten blocks], and tally marks [marcase de conteo]).
In ELA, we brainstormed words with long 'a' sounds. Ask us which words have a long 'a' sound and a silent 'e' at the end! We played a game with dice to practice writing these high frequency words. A challenge was to include this word in a sentence! During ELA, we practiced reading to a partner in our '6-inch voices'.
During Spanish we reviewed adjectives to describe size (tamaño). We enjoyed playing a game about where we would mold ourselves into different objects that were big, medium, and small (grande, mediana, y pequeño).
In Social Studies, we continued to learn about maps. We created a map of a Royal Castle as a class and learnt about directions (north, south, west, and east).
