Tomorrow, September 30th, is National Truth and Reconciliation Day. Please take the time as a family to reflect on the impact of residential schools on our Indigenous Peoples of Canada.
Today, as a school we commemorated by wearing Orange Shirts to school. As a class, we read and discussed the book called "Shi-shi-etko" that tells the story of a young Indigenous girl who remembers home before she was sent to residential school.
This week in Spanish we reviewed the names of body parts and also played 'Simón dice'. We are looking forward to creating self-portraits of ourselves!
In math, we had fun creating our own patterns using a variety of learning manipulatives such as blocks, coloured straws, plastic clips, and cubes. We experimented with patterns of varying lengths and colours. Additionally, we worked on our number lines and skip counting by 2's, 5's, 10's, and 20's.
In gym, we played a running game with different fruit names in Spanish (frambuesa, plátano, uvas, y piña). We played a new game called 'line tag' during indoor gym on Thursday.

- In order for Swimming to be a success we are still requiring more volunteers to help us out. Thank you to everyone who has come in to school get the volunteer clearance started, I am hoping these clearances will come through in time. If any cleared volunteers are able to volunteer for other classes it would be appreciated. Dalhousie School News:
- Dalhousie students and families participated in the annual Terry Fox run this week. Donations can be made online to the Terry Fox Foundation under Dalhousie School until Monday, October 3. Cash will also be accepted until then. Thank you for your generosity in making this initiative such a success!
- School photos retakes will take place on take place on October 17 & 18, 2022.
- There is no school on Friday, October 7 due to a non-instruction day and Monday, October 10 due to Thanksgiving.
