Crazy Sock Day
MAT
The students continued to work on addition of 2-digit numbers with and without carrying/regrouping. We watched a video on Khan Academy Video and the students worked on equations independently.
We had our Mental Math as well as Fast as a Flash levelled addition questions.
ESP
We continued to work on our prepositions of place. The students worked in groups to make posters/contact sheets on this theme, which they will present to the class next week.
We also covered vocabulary with initial P sounds and then had an art lesson(pastels/complimentary colours) based around this vocabulary.
ELA
Students have completed two steps(brainstorming and planning/writing and editing) of their "Day in the Life" story. The will work complete the final copy next week.
We also had our Daily 5.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES
We watched the Bill Nye video on Fluids and practiced taking notes. We reviewed vocabulary from our previous experiments as well.
We talked about traditional food of Acadia, Rappie Pie, and took some notes. Ask your child about it.
PE
We have started working on our dribbling and passing skills with various balls.(tennis/basketballs).
