MAT
In Math, the students started working on subtraction. The worked on estimation in measurement and then measuring the actual length. We worked in our centres as well as one session of Mental Math.
ELA
In ELA the students worked in groups on opinion writing and supporting their opinions with reasons and examples. They worked on a picture writing prompt as well as on our book of feelings. We had a couple of read-alouds to support this work. The students made Valentine's cards for some seniors at Varsity Manor with messages of Kindness. The students also made Valentine's notes for their classmates.
They also worked through centres as well. We had discussions about kindness(we made a kindness chain) and also looked at our brain and the three parts of the brain and how each functions.
SLA
In Spanish we worked on blended consonants. Bl/Pl. Students finished up their houses and shared their work with the class. They worked on syllables as well as a focus on some reading work, both chorally and independently. Most students have had the opportunity to sign in to Rez-Kids during Spanish.
