Yesterday we had our Community Walk and the students did a great job.
ELA
The students began sharing their Stuck Stories with the class. They continued working on their Diary of .... connected to the Insects unit in Science. The students went through centres once and shared some of their work with their Grade 5 buddies. The students are practiced editing each other's stories checking for punctuation, spelling and correct use of upper/lower case letters.
MAT
In Math, the students continued to build up their understanding of fractions. We worked on 2-digit subtraction and addition. The students worked on folding paper in order to recognize a part(fraction) versus the whole. We also worked on 3D shapes as well.
ESP
In Spanish, the students did a mini-research on a particular animal of their choice identifying its habitat, what it can do well, along with other attributes of their animal of choice. We had our centres and the students did choral reading as a class as well.
